Description
In the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia lies the small town of Bramwell. The town was settled by wealthy coal mine owners at the end of the nineteenth century. Bramwell, was considered the richest small town in America. There were as many as 19 millionaires and their families living in Bramwell. These individuals made their fortunes in the Pocahontas coalfields. In the town's heyday, Norfolk and Western trains stopped at the Bramwell train station up to 14 times daily. The Bank of Bramwell was the hub of southern West Virginia's financial network.
